Web Conferencing Solutions for a Fully Interactive Experience

Since web conferencing is becoming a more popular business tool with each passing week, every other vendor seems to be pushing ‘the latest’ web conferencing solutions packed with all sorts of features, promising you a fully interactive experience.

If you’re skeptical about needing all the bells and whistles that web conferencing solutions vendors are offering you, read on.

The Rationale for Web Conferencing Solutions

The reason web conferencing solutions exist is to make your virtual (online) conference as good as the real thing (an actual, real-world meeting). And the reason you’d want to substitute a real-world meeting is convenience.

Web conferencing solutions are supposed to reduce the need to disrupt your normal working day by having to take time out for a meeting, without sacrificing the benefits of a traditional conference (coordination, collaboration, free flowing exchange of ideas, presentations, interaction, etc.).

Moreover, web conferencing solutions will eliminate the expense and delay of travel. Granted that you’d probably not want to completely eliminate face-to-face conferences, web conferencing solutions should allow you to pick only those meetings that are most essential (e.g., quarterly regional meetings instead of monthly).

So, you have to determine your minimum requirement to get the job done and, perhaps, what web conferencing solutions you need to add on to make your job more convenient.

But even if you decide that you need all the bells and whistles, using web conferencing solutions is still substantially more cost-efficient and convenient than having to travel (by land or air) to an actual meeting.
